The Small Grants are designed to provide seed funding of between $500 and $5000 for local reconciliation projects. The definition of a reconciliation project is very broad, to recognise the different activities being undertaken across the state. Projects could include community education resources, events, campaigns and Indigenous social justice programs. Projects must demonstrate a clear community benefit and promote the objectives of reconciliation agenda. Projects must involve both Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians.

WHO CAN APPLY? Local Reconciliation Groups who have registered with the NSW Reconciliation Council can apply.

The definition of a Local Reconcilation Group (LRG) is very broad to recognise the diversity of those people involved in the reconciliation, anti-racism and Indigenous rights movement. LRGs include all volunteer based groups whose aims include reconciliation. An LRG could be a church group, a committee attached to a school or Local Council, an incorporated not-for-profit or an Elders group. It does not cost anything to register.
